You may have recently found Groovy Donuts on your favorite third-party delivery service, like Uber Eats, Grub Hub, Door Dash or others. While this make seem like an ideal and convenient way to support us or other local establishments, that is not always the case.
They Didn't Get Our Permission
Any listings you see on any of these services have been posted without our consent and often contain misleading or just plain wrong information and in some cases even accept orders on days or times that we are closed or for donuts that we don't serve.
Results: Upset Customers and Confused Delivery Drivers
The unfortunate results have been dissatisfied customers and delivery drivers caught between a rock and a hard place not knowing how to fulfill orders that we don't have or during times that we aren't open.
We're Having a Hard Time Getting Them To Remove Our Menu
We've made efforts to get our business removed from these platforms with varying results and our experiences have made us less than enthusiastic about signing on with any of them.
We Won't Be Partnering with Any Services For the Time Being
These services typically charge the customer a delivery fee and take a percentage from the business (ranging up to 35% of the retail price), turning a $12 dozen donuts into a delivery that approaches $20. So, while we'd like to offer the convenience of these services, we will forgo that for the time being. We hope you can understand our reasoning and appreciate you taking the time to read and understand our situation. If you've had a poor experience with us, via one of these services, please don't hold it against us.
Thanks for supporting your groovy, local donut shop!
